NACCRRA (since 1987) is the national network of more than 850 child care resource and referral centers (CCR&Rs) located in every state and most communities across the US. CCR&R centers help families, child care providers, and communities find, provide, and plan for affordable, quality child care.

The Mission of the National Child Care Association is to promote the growth and safeguard the interest of quality childhood care and education focusing on licensed, private providers of these services.

NCCA is a professional trade association focused exclusively on the needs of licensed, private childhood care and education programs. As an alliance of care and education professionals and owners, NCCA takes a singular position in the United States as the ONLY organization representing the specific interests of the licensed, private community.

Every licensed private provider in the United States needs to join NCCA to enhance and insure the private sector's role in providing quality childhood care and education. NCCA represents a unified voice in Washington and strives to balance the quality, affordability and availability of licensed child care and education programs. Networking opportunities, professional development programs and money saving programs are all ways YOUR association serves the industry.

History

Since 1987, NCCA has been the only voice of the licensed, private childhood care and education community. Since that time, the association, its staff and leadership, have succeeded in establishing an influential presence for the private sector at national policy and legislative tables.

NCCA is a federation of state associations and as such draws outstanding leadership from across the United States. The five largest child care companies are national members of NCCA in addition to a number of regional companies.

Truly a representative organization, much of NCCA's focus is on insuring opportunities for the private sector in the provision of services including subsidized child care, Head Start, state pre-k programs and professional development opportunities.

In addition, NCCA has taken a leadership role in developing and offering professional development programs which are geared to the needs of the private sector. The association awards the National Administrator Credential (NAC) to successful directors, owners and managers. The NAC is the only national administrators' credential in the United States.

The National Child Care Information Center (NCCIC), a service of the Child Care Bureau, is a national clearinghouse and technical assistance center that links parents, providers, policy-makers, researchers, and the public to early care and education information.
